Nature of the content

Everything published here is personal opinion and hands-on notes, provided for informational purposes only. Nothing on this Site constitutes professional, legal, security, or engineering advice. Commands and configurations that worked on my machines may break yours — test before you trust.

Nature of the Site

This Site is a personal, non-commercial project. It carries no advertising, no affiliate links, no sponsored content, and offers no goods or services for sale. It is not operated in the course of a business, trade, craft or profession, and no commercial communication within the meaning of Legislative Decree 70/2003 takes place through it.

The Site does not host user-generated content: there are no accounts, no registration, no comment section, and no upload functionality. Should this change, these terms will be updated accordingly, together with the notice-and-action mechanism required by Article 16 of Regulation (EU) 2022/2065 (Digital Services Act).

No warranty

The Site and its content are provided “as is”, without any warranty of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or availability. I do my best to keep information correct and up to date, but I make no promise that it is.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, I accept no liability for any direct or indirect damage, data loss, downtime, or other consequence arising from the use of, or inability to use, this Site or its content — including following instructions, scripts, or configurations published here.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence (art. 1229 of the Italian Civil Code) and any mandatory statutory rights you may have.

Unless otherwise noted, all original content on this Site (text, images, design) is © 2026 bytesdust, all rights reserved. You may quote short excerpts with attribution and a link back to the original page.

Code snippets. Unless a post states otherwise, code published on this Site is released under the MIT License, whose full text is available at bytesdust.com/license. Use of the code requires reproducing the copyright notice and the licence text as set out therein.

This licence does not apply to code that originates from, is quoted from, or is derived from a separately licensed project — whether third-party or my own. Such code remains subject to the licence of the project it comes from, which prevails over this section. In particular, code shown in posts about my own open-source projects is governed by the licence of the relevant repository, regardless of anything stated here.

Text and data mining

The rights holder expressly reserves the right to text and data mining pursuant to Article 4(3) of Directive (EU) 2019/790 and Article 70-quater of Italian Law 633/1941.

Reproduction, extraction and use of the content of this Site for the development, training, fine-tuning or evaluation of machine learning systems, large language models or generative artificial intelligence systems is not permitted without prior written consent.

This reservation does not extend to the retrieval of individual pages performed on the direct request of a human user (for example by conversational assistants acting on a user’s instruction), nor to indexing for the purpose of linking to and citing this Site. Any such retrieval or citation must preserve attribution to the author and include a link to the original page.

This reservation is also expressed in machine-readable form through the Site’s robots.txt file and through the tdm-reservation HTTP response header, in accordance with the TDM Reservation Protocol.

The Site links to third-party websites. I don’t control them and I’m not responsible for their content, availability, or privacy practices. A link is a reference, not an endorsement.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Site: no attempts to disrupt the service, no automated scraping that degrades it, no unlawful use of its content.

Violations may result in termination of access and may be reported to the competent authorities.

Age requirement

By using this Site you confirm that you are at least 16 years old, or that you have obtained the consent of a parent or guardian. This Site is not directed at children.

Changes

I may update these terms at any time. The “last updated” date above reflects the current version. Continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Severability

If any provision of these terms is held to be invalid, void or unenforceable by a competent court, that provision shall be severed and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The severed provision shall be replaced, to the extent permitted, by a valid provision that most closely reflects its original intent.

Language

These terms are published in English for convenience. In the event of any discrepancy or conflict of interpretation, the Italian-language version of the corresponding provisions shall prevail, consistently with the governing law set out below.
